KILZ® ORIGINAL Interior/Exterior Primer Aerosol No. 1008
KILZ ORIGINAL INTERIOR/EXTERIOR Primer is an oil-based primer, sealer and stain blocker ideal for heavy stain blocking, sealing multiple interior and exterior surfaces and preparing it for painting. It is especially effective at blocking graffiti, tannin, water, smoke, and other bleeding stains. KILZ ORIGINALINTERIOR/EXTERIOR Primer has excellent adhesion and penetration to bare wood. It also dries quickly and provides a mildew-resistant coating.

Best for use in
This convenient aerosol is ideal for small paint projects and spot priming interior and exterior surfaces. Not recommended for flooring.
Coverage
20 - 25 sq. ft. (1.9 - 2.3 m2) per container, depending on the surface texture, porosity and application method. It does not include the loss of material from spraying.
PRODUCT USAGE
- Use on interior and exterior surfaces including wood, drywall, plaster, brick, masonry, stucco, interior siding and paneling, metal and properly prepared glossy surfaces†.
- Not recommended on flooring.
Surface Preparation†
- All surfaces must be clean, free of dust, chalk, oil, grease, wax, polish, mold and mildew, loose peeling paint, rust and all other foreign substances.
- If washing is necessary, use a non-soapy detergent or a TSP substitute, rinse well and allow to dry.
- †Glossy Surfaces: For maximum adhesion, scuff sand the surface thoroughly before priming.*
- Peeling or Checked Paint: Scrape off loose paint and sand to a smooth surface.*
- Mold or Mildew Covered Surfaces: Wash the area with a mildew remover, rinse with water and allow to dry before priming.
- Masonry, Brick, Stucco and Plaster: KILZ ORIGINAL INTERIOR/EXTERIOR Primer may be used on clean, dry, aged masonry surfaces that have cured (dried) at least 90 days. If masonry has cured less than 90 days, use KILZ® PREMIUM, KILZ 2® Primers.
- Fire Restoration: It is critical to clean damaged surfaces thoroughly before priming. Primer recommendations: Water-based primers such as KILZ® RESTORATION or oil-based primers such as KILZ® ORIGINAL (interior use) or KILZ® ORIGINAL EXTERIOR.

Application
- Eye protection is recommended. Do not thin. Stir thoroughly before and occasionally during use.
- For best results, use when substrate and air temperatures are between 35°F (2°C) and 90°F (32°C). Cover adjacent areas to protect from overspray.
- Shake can vigorously for 1 minute after mixing ball begins to rattle and often during use. Hold can upright, moving from side-to-side while spraying lightly and evenly about 12" from the area being painted. 2-3 thin coats produce the best results.
- Topcoat with water-based or oil-based paint after 60 minutes. NOTE: On some surfaces, spot priming may cause a non-uniform appearance in the final coat. To avoid this, prime the entire surface.

Clean Up & Disposal
- Do not stick pins or wire into the can opening.
- Clean fresh overspray with mineral spirits or paint thinner. Remove dried paint with paint remover, but test a small area first to ensure paint remover does not damage the substrate.
